PEDAGOGICAL CONTENTS
Program -KKU Faculty of Education-
Faculty of Education of Khon Kaen University welcomed me as an exchange student to learn teaching.
In this program, each exchange student was assigned to teach their specialized subject to students at different schools. Through conversations with international students from Indonesia and the Philippines, they revealed differences in curricula, textbooks, and the level of instruction.
Election of School Council
The international school had an election of school council.
On Tuesday of second week,“School Council Election” was held at school in a class.
Every students who have desire to be a leader to improve tehir school can run for school council regardless of their age.
The positions open for candidacy were Student Council President, Vice President, one Secretary, and one Treasurer.
First, candidates introduced their selves for 1 minutes and made a presentation to appeal their pledge as a leader for 2 minutes online. They made full use of Canva Slides to tell why they are suitable for a representative and what benefit can be brought by choosing them as a council.
I think through such an opportunity, students can develop and be promoted their leadership, responsibility, and enthusiasm to improve their community.
Lunch Break Session
Next week, during a lunch time, all candidates showed up on the stage and emphasized their strangth through interview by teachers.
They can't prepare answers beforehand, so I thought it may be difficult for students, but they managed to think and response quickly.
What I thought interesting question was "If there were no funds available to organize a school event, how would you raise the money?"
Such question is difficult even for me to answer, but I felt it leads to enhance of problem-solving skills and thinking abilities that are genuinely useful in society.
Chinsese New Year's Celebration
Chinese New Year
A significant number of people in Thailand have Chinese roots, and Chinatowns are scattered throughout the country; consequently, events celebrating the Lunar New Year are held in various locations.
Although it is not an official national holiday, it has become deeply rooted in Thai society as a cultural event, owing to the presence of Thai people of Chinese descent.
School Programs
In 2026, Chinese New Year was on February 17th.
In accordance with it, the international school held a celebration event throughout the day.
Some students performed Chinese dance and one of the Chinsese girl played the guquin, the traditional Chinese instrument.
Also, they enjoyed free market at school.
In Japan, there aren't any Chinese festival, so I felt cultural differences between Japan and Thailand.
